Re: La Santa Muerte and Buddhism

There is an old thread about this on the forum, but that's all I remember. A site search would probably find it. :coffee: Kim Honestly, I’m not sure what my middle school brain was thinking or on at the time :| Though I highly doubt there are any such practitioners here in the forum. I certai...

Re: La Santa Muerte and Buddhism

Well, it's impossible to determine who this being is but we can comment other issues,e.g. why someone turns to LSM instead of bodhisattvas etc because getting an answer from bodhisattvas is extremely difficult, years of practice, predisposition to more effective practices,(if you don't have it - yo...

The dharani kicks ass, especially in combination with Nampar Jompoa dharani and mantra. Very useful for overcoming obstacles associated with brain problems: strokes, migraines, etc... What is the "Nampar Jompoa dharani and mantra." Also does Usnisa Vijaya Dharani help with heart issues, b...

Self-clinging is what generate karma, giving raise for the dependent origination and nonself is karma purification: “This kind of coemergent god or demon is not generally known by worldly people. Re: Asa HershoffS Vajrayana "Inside Scoop"

some of his push hands videos are staged/exaggerated, or at the very least blatant self promotion via “teacher Chi” and very compliant students….not exactly unusual in the Taichi world but it is what it is and it’s a pet peeve. It's the norm rather than the exception. That video is a particularly l...

Re: How do we accumulate millions of mantras?

Prayer wheel. If you have the money, you can buy then with millions of mantras. i consider the same. Prayer wheels do not count for practice accumulations in Sakya circles. I'm unsure about the other circles but do the Sakya circles also not count multiplying mantras (Om Ruchira...etc.)?

Re: World Cup 2022

During a coffee reading, one of my Turkish friends predicted that France would win the World Cup based on what she saw in one of my friend's cups! (we're waiting to see if she was right! Meanwhile, my Argentinian friends are praying for Argentina to beat France!)

Re: Aquamation - Any Views on This?

There are traditional burials representing the body going back to different elements according to some sources I’ve read. I imagine this is not unknown. If a lama were to take up aquamation, would the request be to preserve both the bones and the used fluids (rather than disposing of the liquid lat...

Aquamation - Any Views on This?

Out of curiosity, what would be a Tibetan Buddhist perspective regarding aquamation? Would it be just as acceptable as cremation?

Where to get tsa-tsa clay?

When constructing something like little tsa-tsas or a mini stupa, what sort of clay/mould would be used specifically? To anyone that has had experience with these constructions, where do you get your materials and how much does it cost to construct these sorts of little objects?

Re: 100 Pujas Meaning

As an example, I was once told to say or have said 400 of Naten Chagchod, a prostration and offering puja to the Buddha and 16 Sthviras/Elders/"Arhats." In this case, I did not repeat the refuge and generation of Bodhicitta each time, just the invocation and offering sections. Nor did I s...

100 Pujas Meaning

Just to check, when one commissions a lama to conduct 100 Medicine Buddha pujas, does this mean that a lama has to conduct a ritual 100 times, he’s offering 100 little torma offerings, or what does it mean to conduct 100 pujas?

"Secular" Phowa/Bardo Instruction?

Years ago, I remember encountering a Bardo Thodol or Phowa instruction at the moment of death that was applicable to all sorts of people in replacing the "Lord of Compassion" with an equivalent from the dying person's faith such as Jesus, Vishnu, or for atheists, golden light (if I remembe...
