Nobody recites the Nembutsu of Gratitude (and some more poems)

Post by Mdg137 »

The Nembutsu of wholesome gratitude is not recited, it is received!
Each time it is said is a gift from Amida.
We speak it out of thankfulness for being saved by the vow,
Such thankfulness is only Amida's working.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no wrong way to say the Nembutsu.
If you could defile it, it would not be Amida's work;
A practice so easy a caveman can do it.
I should know, I'm one of them!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All poetry is futile!
The works of all the great Buddhist poets:
All contained in Namu Amida Butsu!
Still like reading them though.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I Like Me Better (When I'm With You)". A song that
Makes me cry tears of sadness when I remember
Those who I have lost,
Makes me cry tears of joy when I realize
Amida never lost me.
