There are different termas, different school considerations, even Dzogchen has secondary practices to deal with this. How does one navigate which are the most effective (or more appropriate) ones?

I think you should go for the ones that you are drawn to or seem to have a karmic link to.
That could be the one who you have an opportunity to learn and get transmission for from your teacher.

Generally I think, there is no such thing as 'most or less effective', because practice always depends on the practicioner's quality.

Controlling your own expenditure and a long-term investment strategy relying primarily on low-cost index funds, combined with avoiding excessive leverage

Generosity is the key. You first need to create the causes. Wealth deities help the karma ripen. So offer to the triple gem, poor, those in need, etc. Not only money, but your time and service.

For those who do virtuous actions,
goodness is what comes to pass.
For those who do non-virtuous actions,
that becomes suffering indeed.

In my experience: Tara as Norterma. It take some time to know how to work with wealth "energy" but once you do it you have it for life times.

The general advice from ChNN on this score is to engage in long-life practice.

The principle is that if one's energy is perfect, everything goes perfect.
The practices are of long life and prosperity, altogether. Why? Because without prosperity one doesn't want a long life and without a long life all the prosperity is useless.

Long life practice is not a simple as it looks or sounds on the surface. It involves multiple levels of practice and understanding along with benefits, hence it becomes a core practice for many people and masters.
Life is like a game, either you win or lose!
Life is like a fight, either you live or die!
Life is like a show, either you laugh or cry!
Life is like a dream, either you know or not!!!

Why must everyone insist on making things sound so difficult?

Dzambala embody the generosity of the Buddha. By having mire generosity, by including more and more, by growing the circle of your attention, you increase everything good.
When you do the practice, think of all people, dharma centre, everything, offer it to all, you will be included in it.
The more you think of your little « me » only, the mire you are tense and fearful. Think of others also, and you will feel relaxed. With a relaxed state of being, you will get much more easily whatever you need.
Whatever you need and want, wish it for others too. Include all those who like you need this or that. It will empower your practice.

Do you want to expand on that why they are so complicated or not so simple?

How about Riwo Sangcho? I’ve heard that it is pretty good too.
