Girimananda Suttra - useful for mentally or physically sick/ill persons

Girimananda Suttra (Piritha) is widely used in Theravada Buddhism for the people who are physically ill or sick. This is chanted in Pali language which is the original way the Lord Buddha chanted. The meaning is also noted in Sinhala language in this video.

The meaning of this sutta is, same as everything in this universe is impermanent, your illness is also impermanent. So, may you get well soon from the truth of that.

Welcome to DW, gunky89 :hi:

You might like to hop over to the Introductions forum and tell us a bit about yourself - https://www.dharmawheel.net/viewforum.php?f=10

Or you might prefer to hop over to our Theravada companion site https://www.dhammawheel.com/ if that's your tradition.

We're Mahayanists here so Sanskrit is more usual than Pali when we come to the sutras. But most of us can't read either language so an English translation would be a nice follow-up to your post. :thanks:

Well, he certainly was ahead of his time, since Pali language emerged around the third century BCE.
EMPTIFUL.
