Kagyu Vajrakilaya

Post by ZopaChotso »

Did any of the Kagyu Lineage masters practice Vajrakilaya? I follow Drikung, so anyone between Tilopa and Phagmodrupa? Jigten Sumgon?

Jigten Sumgon's great grandmother practiced Vajrakilaya.
Don't know if she transmitted it

How auspicious!!! Achi is my favorite dharmapala, and while reading your comment just now, I had that exact Monk playing in the background! Do you have a timestamp?

The early "Kagyu" masters, by which I think you mean Tilo, Naro, Marpa, Mila, Gampopa focused on Sarma yidams. Jigten Sumgon, however, was taught Kilaya practice by his uncle, as a young man.

These days Kilaya practice is part of pretty much every Kagyupa's training.

It is realized through the blessing grace of the Guru and fortunate Karmic potential.
Like this, mistaken ideas of discriminating wisdom are clarified."
