Mingyur Rinpoche - Tergar Australia - Residential Retreat

Post by Punya »

Awakening Wisdom & Compassionate Action.
A ten-day residential retreat with Myoshin and Edwin-Kelley, founding members of Tergar International.

Friday, February 17 — Sunday February 26, with two weekend options available.
Institute of Advanced Studies, La Trobe University Bundoora Campus, Melbourne, Australia.

There are times when our lives may be turbulent and confusing, and we can easily become disheartened and feel disconnected. However, meditation offers us an opportunity to open to these difficulties and access our inner resilience. At its heart, meditation is very practical. It is not about changing our life’s circumstances so that we can feel better, or become a better person, but realizing that we are whole and complete, right here, right now, regardless of our situation. Meditation is a method for discovering who we truly are.

In this retreat we will learn how to connect to the qualities of awareness, compassion, and wisdom in our everyday life, through the practice of the six paramitas. The six paramitas are the natural expression of our awakened mind; generosity, ethical conduct, patience, joyful effort, meditation and wisdom. By exploring the six paramitas, we will learn how they support us in the here and now and enrich how we live our lives. This journey leads us beyond a limited sense of self to a heart that is open and at ease.

During the first weekend of this retreat we will explore key points from the Joy of Living. Then through the week we will discover how the six paramitas support our meditation practice. During the final weekend we will examine the possibility of making these qualities the basis of our everyday lives.

Registration now open!

This is a great opportunity to connect with Mingyur Rinpoche via two of his most senior students. Myoshin and Edwin have been supporting the establishment of the Australian Tergar sangha for several years and they are seriously considering re-locating to Australia next year. It is also looking likely that Mingyur Rinpoche will visit Australia next year!
