Hellor dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters,
Is there a peaceful form or manifestation of Kalachakra and his consort or is there only the wrathful version/form/iconography of the Kalachakra deity transmitted/known?
Also: Is there iconography of the Kalachakra deity or his consort not in union?
Thank you.
Peaceful form of Kalachakra?
Re: Peaceful form of Kalachakra?
Afaik, peaceful form of Kalachakra is Vajrasattva, Wrathful form is Vajravega. Regular Kalachakra is semi-wrathful/joyful form. There is also a practice for Vishvamata, a consort of Kalachakra.nomono wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 7:08 pm Hellor dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters,

Re: Peaceful form of Kalachakra?
In the Jonang, there are sadhanas for the solitary figure of Kālacakra not in union (for instance, Dölpopa Sherab Gyaltsen wrote one that is beautiful and concise), but it's not the most commonly used sadhana (the connate Kālacakra with consort is mostly used) and I've never seen any iconography to go along with it. Kālacakra is almost always depicted in union with Viśvamātā. The wrathful form of Kālacakra (Vajravega) is, in contrast, usually not depicted in union in iconography. Also: Is there iconography of the Kalachakra deity or his consort not in union?
