Achi Chokyi Drolma

Post by plain »

I'm wondering if anyone has written an English language book about the Drikung Kagyu protector and yidam Achi Chokyi Drolma. I know that Tibetans don't categorize things this way, but I'd love to see an academic style source book of her practices and texts as well as hagiography and other devotional materials. Does any of this exist in English?

This particlular article from Dakini Translations is excellent and has detailed sources and references as well : https://dakinitranslations.com/2021/12/ ... oche-2021/

Among the sources referred to in that article is this M.A. thesis on Achi by Kristen K. Muldowney: https://diginole.lib.fsu.edu/islandora/ ... u%3A254364
Muldowney, K. K. (2011). Outward Beauty, Hidden Wrath: An Exploration of the Drikung Kagyü Dharma Protectress Achi Chökyi Drölma. Retrieved from http://purl.flvc.org/fsu/fd/FSU_migr_etd-4677

This link has a lot of great translations about Achi, but they should only be read by those with empowerment, authorizations or any other requirements of samaya that may apply : http://www.drigung.com/translations.html
