Learning Nepali

Post by PadmaVonSamba »

I’ve started to learn Nepali, as there is a growing number of Bhutanese refugees in my area. Anyway. I found it very interesting that the Nepali word for ZERO (0) is SUNYA

Could sunyata be thought of as “zero-ness” ?
Zero isn’t “nothing”. It holds a place in mathematics.

Still, I wonder about how of relates to the Buddhist concept…
EMPTIFUL.
An inward outlook produces outward insight.

शून्य - (read shoonya) in hindi:
zero, naught, nil, nothingness, nothing, nix.

Does it answer? Got to go! Tornado ⚠️!
