Gendun Chophel and his witnessing of Indian Chakrasamvara

Post by ddorje »

This might be a long shot, but does anyone have a source for where the account of Gendün Chöphel coming across Indian practioners of the Chakrasamvara during his journeys in India?

I came across this, but have lost the source and was wondering anyone knows it?

I haven't got the books to hand, but it could either be his Guide to India, or Grains of Gold.

Dge ‘dun chos ‘phel, “Rgyal khams rig pas bskor ba’i gtam rgyud gser gyi thang ma (smad cha)”. In Dge ‘dun chos ‘phel gyi gsung rstom 2:181-2. Quoted in Lopez pp 37-8. He doesn’t specifically say that they’re practicing Chakrasamvara, just that they’re “yogis practising the path of desire” - same difference I guess.
