hi everyone!
my name is Casper, I'm 22, from the UK (specifically the East Mids). i'm a complete and total newbie to Buddhism though i've always been both fascinated and drawn to it. i feel like right now, though, i'm actually committed to practicing and learning and becoming Buddhist.
i think i've been researching it too much, though, especially from an academic viewpoint (as most of my research tends to be done by). i'm getting a little lost in all these different schools and trying to find which one is 'right' (i am far more drawn to the mahayana schools) but i think i'm missing the point there.
i'm mainly drawn to the accessibility of the plum village tradition at the moment, though of course as the journey continues that is liable to change.
there are no local sanghas to me that aren't part of Triratna, which is not something i am interested in. i have, however, emailed the rainbow sangha online group of plum village, asking for more information.
any direction or advice would be greatly appreciated.
outside of this, i'm an avid artist and fibrecrafter, obsessed with knitting and crocheting, and i'm currently the Cat Dad of a gorgeous little sphynx called Tails.
thank you for taking the time to read this!

Be most welcome, mate!
Looking but not seeing - that's my eye.
Thinking but not minding - that's my mind.
Speaking but not expressing - that's my tongue.
Traveling but not going - that's my path.

Hi, and welcome! I'm guessing that since you're a fibre enthusiast you've already discovered Ravelry, but if not, here's a link.
Beware, though, it's a very deep hole.
