The Secret Chan Forest Gate 机禅林门
What precisely is this “Secret Chan Forest Gate”?
The answer lies in the Chinese characters themselves, for there exists a hidden significance. The character jī also signifies “opportunity.”
The characters chán lín, which are literally translated as “meditation-forest,”
have a second significance in Buddha Dharma, for they signify the “gathering of adepts.”
The character mén not surprisingly also has a second hidden significance here. It means “field of endeavor.”
The “Secret Chan Forest Gate” is then the “opportunity” for “Chan adepts” to enter a “field of endeavor.”
What is that field of endeavor? It is the path of Chan Si Lun.

What then is Chan Si Lun?
Chan Si Lun is Chan Buddha Dharma of the Four Treatises, in which the four treatises are four wheels of the transmission of Buddha Dharma.
It has as its base the Si Lun, the positive form of Sanlun as applied by Chan.
These four treatises are:
o The Avatamsaka (Garland) Sutra, which pertains to the first turning of the Dharma Wheel.
o The Vajracchedika (Diamond) Sutra, which pertains to the second turning of the Dharma Wheel.
o The Lankavatara (Descent to Lanka) Sutra, which pertains to the third turning of the Dharma Wheel.
o The Mahaparinirvana (Great Nirvana) Sutra, the final Dharma Wheel Sutra.
These are supported by other important treatises:
o The Vimalakirti Nirdesa Sutra (The Pure Name Sutra)
o Zhōng lùn (The Middle Treatise of Nagarjuna)
o Shì èr mén lùn (The Twelve-Gate Treatise, attributed to Nagarjuna)
o Bǎi lùn (The Hundred [Verse] Treatise, attributed to Aryadeva)

Oh, it is quite extensive and must be taken one step at a time.
I'll see how to make it comprehensible

Of course it is not my intention to make it long or boring to read. I explained it in the post above.
It is simply to put forward an idea about Ch'an.
Many times people get carried away by fervour and copy and paste texts of gigantic length.
To my credit, I would never do that as my eyesight is tired. I extend to them the courtesy of not putting them through what I am going through now.

No problem, please just provide author and name of work before posting pieces of otherwise unaccompanied texts.

ah, now I get it!
It was my mistake, and I also didn't use inverted commas to indicate that I was quoting.
Details I overlook.
I'll correct it right away

Info about the Author -
The Secret Chan Forest Gate
Shanjian Dashi (Author)
An overview of the history of Chan, the offspring on Indian Buddha Dharma and Chinese Dao and the root of Japanese Zen
Shan-jiàn Da-shi was born in England, trained as a psychologist and biologist in California, worked with Leon Festinger in New York and, after rejecting the civilisation of the West, discovered his guides Nyanaponika Thera and Narada Thera in Ceylon. It was there that Nyanaponika Thera persuaded him of the importance of a deep understanding of right mindfulness and energy and Narada Thera showed him the essence of Abhidharma with the idea that, if modern psychology could show the why perfectly with cognitive intellect, the Buddhadharma could teach how to find truth by direct experience, and that the meeting of the two was necessary for the new world.
After fifteen years as a theravadin, as an arahat without awakening to the primordial state, Shan-jiàn received in Kunming the transmission of Chan, the Chinese source of Zen, and generated the reintegration of the five houses of Chan together with the way of the Hua Yen school of Tsung Mi. For thirty years he has been teaching all the fundamental branches of the Dharma from the Mahabodhi Sunyata Seminary in Catalonia, with an emphasis on the transcendental unity that underlies the many practices available to all beings: a united Buddhism, without dogmas, ceremonies or rituals and, most importantly, with emphasis on the depth of the teachings from the simplicity of Chan to the beauty and magnificence of Vajrayana, without compromise, without separation of seemingly distinct paths and without deviation from the truth of the spirit of the Buddhadharma; from Mahabodhi he teaches the Bodhisattvayana, the Dharmayana and Bodhi Dharmayana of Chan Ssu Lun and, for those who walk without a teacher but have the appropriate capacity, the way of the great Mahamudra of Tilopa and Naropa.
