Tröma Nagmo drupchod
A Tröma drupchod is an intensive and very powerful group practice of the Vajrayana that brings great benefit not only personally but also collectively in that it increases vitality, health, prosperity, and dissipates violence and obstacles as well as harmonizes the disturbed elements and environment. Unlike a drupchen, the drupchod does not continue through the night. According to the history of Vajrayana, it is said that whoever practices together for a drupchod or drupchen for a certain time will at the end of the retreat attain Buddhahood, such as when King Indrabodhi and all his group went into rainbow body and his country become empty. A Troma drupchod lead by Dudjom Yangsid Rinpoche is a very rare occasion and an unparalleled opportunity. Even by joining for three days, because of the presence of a great master, it will make a big difference, and will surely dispel lots of obstacles, negativities, and advance your profound spiritual path of enlightenment. During the drupchod there will be an offering of tsok and lamps each day.
Tröma Nagmo Wang
According to the Terma teachings, Guru Rinpoche received the teaching of Troma Nagmo and the Tantra of Vajravarahi from a large group of wisdom dakinis in the Spontaneous Cemetery of Uddiyana. Vajrayogini also appeared before him and gave him all these teachings as an oral transmission. Guru Rinpoche realized that of all practices, these were the most profound and secret, so he hid them in his own heart-mind.
Later, when he came to Tibet, Yeshe Tsogyal had a dream in which the five wisdom dakini families advised her to request this teaching from Guru Rinpoche. After Guru Rinpoche gave these teachings to Yeshe Tsogyal and his closest disciples he hid it as terma in the heart of Drokben Kyeuchung Lotsawa, the previous incarnation of Dudjom Rinpoche.
Following the prophecies of Guru Rinpoche and other tertons, Dudjom Lingpa (1835-1904), the predecessor of Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, revealed these teachings without obstacle as a space treasure from his wisdom mind. According to Dudjom Lingpa this teaching of Troma Nagmo is a treasure of the Mahasiddha Saraha and the secret teaching of the dakinis.
It has been prophesied that thirty close disciples will attain the full rainbow body in a single lifetime, and that anyone who diligently follows the stages of creation and dissolution will attain the state of Troma Nagmo in this lifetime, or in the bardo, or in their next life. Moreover, everyone who enters this mandala will see the signs of realization whether they practice for three years, three months, or even three days.
In this empowerment, the outer aspect is Troma Nagmo, the inner is Dorje Phagmo, and the dharmakaya level is Kuntuzangmo. This is a direct, secret empowerment of the dakinis and by receiving it, you receive all the empowerments of the dakinis.
Vajrakilaya Wang: Phurba Putri Repung (Vajrakilaya) Initiation Historical Background
The lineage of Vajrakilaya begins with Vajrakilaya himself teaching it to the Five Buddha Families and Dakini Dewai Khorlo in Akinishta heaven. Later on Dakini Dewai Khorlo transmitted it to the Mahasiddha Prabhahasti, one of the eight Vidyadharas who holds the eight oral transmissions called Kagye. He, in turn, transmitted it to Guru Rinpoche who, once he had realized the nature of Vajrakilaya, transmitted it in Tibet. He hid much of it as a treasure for future generations. Later on according to the prophecy of Guru Rinpoche and other great tertons, His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche then revealed this terma for the benefit of our generation. The blessing of the oral lineage of Kama and the Treasure Lineage of Terma is fully intact; because of that it is very sharp, swift, and effective.
His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje (1904-1987), received this teaching in a dream when he was 34 years old. In the dream, Yeshe Tsogyal came to him carrying a small sky-metal phurba, which had been given to her by Guru Rinpoche after he had transformed into Dorje Drolo and subjugated the eight classes of spirits. His Holiness took the phurba to receive empowerment from it, and thus placed it on his three centers. When he touched it to his heart center, he instantly transformed into Vajrakilaya with his lower body in the form of a phurba dagger. With this Yeshe Tsogyal was very pleased and told him that this was the correct way to take the initiation and reminded him that they had received this transmission together from Guru Rinpoche. She then told him to guard the phurba carefully and shook his hand. With that, His Holiness woke up and remembered all the teachings of Vajrakilaya that he had received from Guru Rinpoche, but he decided to write down only the very essence of it and these are the teachings and practices of the Putri Rekpung.
Chimed Sogthig Long-Life Empowerment
This was first taught in the dharmakaya realm by Samantabhadra, in what is known in that realm as the lineage of mind transmission. Then by the transmission of sign and symbol, it was taught in Akinishta to all the vidyadharas, dakas, and dakinis by the hundred peaceful and wrathful deities. It came into our realm when Amitayus appeared in front of Guru Rinpoche and his consort Mandarava in the Maratika cave in Nepal and he gave them the complete transmission of this lineage.
Having realized the deathless state of Amitayus, Guru Rinpoche taught his disciples this teaching in various places such as Senge Dzong and Lodrak Karchu in Tibet and Taktsang in Bhutan, and finally he hid the teachings for the benefit of future generations.
In 1905, as prophesied, Rigdzin Zilnon Namkha Dorje (1868-c.1927), who was a manifestation of Vairocana and Nanam Dorje Dudjom, discovered this teaching in Senge Dzong. When he took the terma out from the Tsogyal cave, there were many auspicious signs and manifestations of dakinis and dharmapalas. Then Guru Rinpoche and Mandarave and all the dharmapalas appeared before him and transmitted the teachings in their entirety to him.
In the terma, Guru Rinpoche instructed the terton to keep these teachings intact and give them to Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, twenty-one years later, so that he might be the holder of these teachings. Accordingly, twenty-one years later, Zilnon Namkha Dorje gave them intact in a vessel to Dudjom Rinpoche on Tranang Mountain behind the monastery of Mindroling, and said, “I have been waiting so long, but now, according to the instruction of Guru Rinpoche, I give you these teachings.” Thus at the age of twenty-one, Dudjom Rinpoche became the holder of these teachings and it has been ever since included as part of the Dudjom Tersar.
This practice of long-life is very swift and powerful and all the practitioners of this terma extend their lives and expand their beneficial activities very widely.
