Great Vehicle Sutra of Word-free Universally Radiant Store(大乘離文字普光明藏經)

Post by magnetheart »

Hi everyone,

I am not sure if this is the section I should go.

in recent years, the 'Great Vehicle Sutra of Word-free Universally Radiant Store'(大乘離文章普光明藏經)has been very popular in Chinese community. And lots of people said that it brings many many benefits and gets their wills fulfilled by reading this diligently.

However, I did not see English version of this sutra, after searching over the Internet--only in Chinese. I know there's a English translation for similar sutra, MAHĀYĀNA SŪTRA OF THE ILLUMINATING EVERYWHERE RADIANCE-STORE WORDLESS DHARMA DOOR. But this is not the official version that Chinese people has been reading, which was included in Chinese Buddist Canon, even the translator of this two sutras was the same--the Tripiṭaka Master Divākara, from India.

So I did translation myself, hoping more people who do not speak Chinese can get to know this great sutra.

I am wondering if this website an appropriate place to publish it, if I would, or somewhere elso would be better?

Your suggestion will be appreciated.

Thank you!

If you're saying you have already translated it, that's wonderful. I would personally be very interested in reading it. I'm not really sure where a good place to publish it would be. If it's rather large you could self publish it as a book, but if it's short, it's probably best to just put it on a website.

There was a site that had a lot of sutras called buddhasutra.com, but it doesn't seem to be working now, I don't know if it's temporary or not.

Another site:
http://www.buddhism.org/

They have quite a few sutras, and a way to contact them on their "about us" page. Perhaps try there. I don't know much about either site, I've just seen them while searching for various things. Hopefully someone else has better ideas, but please do update here if it goes up somewhere so I can read it.

I have always assumed that the “don’t” in Seung Sahn‘s “don’t know” or “only don’t know” was “don’t” as in “I don’t know”

but recently I was wondering if the “don’t” functions more like “don’t do that” , meaning “don’t think/ don’t try to intellectualize it”.

Any thoughts on this, or don’t know?

It's also quite easy to set up a Google Sites or a blog for your translations and post it there.
