Thousands of Extinction Rebellion demonstrators are in the streets in cities around the world demanding governments take immediate and drastic action to address climate change. We're watching activists in Germany blocking a major Berlin intersection. Dozens have already been arrested this morning in other countries, including Australia, Amsterdam, and New Zealand.

Extinction Rebellion is a relatively new group, formed about a year ago in England with an impressive amount of forethought about what needs doing and how to go about it. It is growing fast, and has absorbed at least one smaller protest group entirely - the members all said "Let's join XR so we have more organisational support."

Yes that is also what i have heard / read.
Who would that be and what would be the reason to manipulate these activists ?

Can imagine myself that some wealthy persons feel themselves uncomfortable with these climate activists and will sure take their preparations.

Oh i see infiltration, is here the tactic.
That is of course a strategy to weaken the protesters who go on the street.

In case of political green parties there is another strategy some of the billionaires will follow.

In the Democracy is it like that, if a party has scored the majority of the votes, that party must form a coalition with minority parties to rule.

Here also can take place a certain infiltration from the rich ones who rule indirect the government.
It is very difficult to stop that "infiltration" of the 1%.

Also have i so my doubts regarding the correct functioning of the "electronic" voting system international seen,,,,,,,
Here is on large scale fraud possible, also a way of infiltration, strategy.

So its not easy to make changes in a short time possible, because the 1% are too fixed into the saddle since a very long time and here i mean at least 1200 years of infiltration and dirty politics like war, slavery etc.

While I agree with their general message overall, maybe blocking traffic entirely does seem a bit too extreme. (Maybe at least let the ambulances through?)
Still, I guess they really want convey the urgency of the matter.
Money would become quite useless if environmental issues & living conditions becomes extremely dire for the majority.
And I think they really do have a valid point about what would happen if mass flooding happens ABOVE bridge and road levels; yikes, very dire situation to imagine indeed!

No need to be disappointed - torture is standard operating procedure under many of today's (perfectly legal) governments.

Very true fact yet unfortunately fact in today's age of dharma degeneration.
The recent trends definitely favours even more Authoritarian governments all over the world, and abuse against its ordinary citizen, including measures such as overly strict suddenly made up or unreasonable laws, and more dramatic punishments of: increasing fines/jail-time/torture/etc.
In this case, it is the money-obsessed law enforcers branch of the the governments, along with their big-corporate backers, that are imprisoning these climate rebels and justice fighters.
Also, it seems many politicians are only willing to pay lip services for their climate & environmental commitments.

It seems that only the financially wealthy can buy favours and court justice, based on my own basic observation and experiences.

Extinction Rebellion gets posher by the day. Last week it was announced that the 1,300 agitators arrested in London included Princess Marie-Esméralda of Belgium, daughter of Leopold III. ‘The climate emergency calls on all of us to put pressure on governments to act with urgency’, she said.
A little further down the aristocratic scale there is Tamsin Omond, the granddaughter of a baronet. She’s a former member of the implacably snobby anti-flying group Plane Stupid, whose website once denounced the ‘enormous growth in binge-flying’ and in particular the ‘proliferation of stag and hen nights to Eastern European destinations chosen not for their architecture or culture but because people can fly there for 99p and get loaded for a tenner’.

We shouldn’t be surprised. Environmentalism has long had a strong streak of class hatred. From the filthy rich David de Rothschild’s 2007 guide to living more austerely to Jonathon Porritt (the Eton-educated son of Lord Porritt) heading up Friends of the Earth; from Prince Charles’ demand that we all live more eco-meekly to Prince Harry’s shameless moaning about flying even as he takes a private jet to Elton John’s swanky pad; from Plane Stupid’s posh protests against plebs flying out of Stansted Airport to the sirs and ladies who head up the various efforts to curb population growth (shudder) – green politics has always been led by the posh, and has always been targeted at the lower orders.

Yup..E.R. are busily shooting themselves in the foot. I watched an interview with a man who works for a charitable organisation in London. He had been persuaded by the Green argument previously, to sell his car and use public transport. Only to find it disrupted by Extinction Rebellion protesters. The result was he missed a vital appointment which in turn disadvantaged some already very disadvantaged clients..
In London, a very liberal minded city, one that voted Remain and which supports a whole range of left of centre causes, and which elected a Socialist mayor, the support for E.R. is rapidly turning to hostility...

Suddenly 'it weren't us govn'r' arises as the culprits were supposedly from a fringe group and not core ER. Then ER apologised once it was clear it was them.
Comes on the back of Greta telling them all to defy the law and the police ban, however.
When the guy on the train roof kicked a member of the public as the initial act of violent assault, not 'self defence' as ER claim, it was bound to end badly. This is a bunch of entitled idiots who even afterwards were still claiming that although we already know their argument they still need to cause disruption.
I suggest they try throwing themselves under trains instead.

It’s interesting, the first footage of the incident I saw did not show that the initial violence came from the protestor on the train roof. It just showed him being dragged off. Subsequent coverage commences a few seconds earlier and shows him clearly and deliberately kicking one of the commuters in the face, which then escalates into a melee.
