Re: Buddhist Memes Thread
Buddhists have been doing this meme thing for a long time...
etc.
etc.
There is no suffering to be severed. Ignorance and klesas are indivisible from bodhi. There is no cause of suffering to be abandoned. Since extremes and the false are the Middle and genuine, there is no path to be practiced. Samsara is nirvana. No severance achieved. No suffering nor its cause. No path, no end. There is no transcendent realm; there is only the one true aspect. There is nothing separate from the true aspect.

Re: Buddhist Memes Thread
Meme is shortened from memema, which, Greg you can confirm, connotes imitation, as in the word, mime and mimicry.Grigoris wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 5:46 pm And I quote:

The oral tradition in Buddhism, particularly when we get into esoteric transmissions and guru yoga in the Tibetan context all relates to this copying and perpetuating of awakening.
I think the most meme like Buddhist memes would be things like Dharani, Mantra, and other chants.

I have my doubts about that^ being an actual historically attributed quote; but it’s pretty good. Of course there are always going to be some exceptions to the above saying....

I don't like samsara, it's course and rough, and irritating. And it gets everywhere.

goodness is what comes to pass.
For those who do non-virtuous actions,
that becomes suffering indeed.
