Hayagriva Phurba?

Hello friends,

I have noticed that Hayagriva almost never holds a phurba in his depictions, yet there are such objects as Hayagriva Phurbas.

I’m wondering about the extent of the relationship between the phurba and Hayagriva practice. Does Hayagriva practice always involve a phurba? Is he considered a “phurba diety”? Is the phurba as synonymous with Hayagriva as it is with Vajrakilaya?

Does anyone have resources where i can research this myself? Its been hard to find info.
