ChNN treng mo/mala-divination question

As Tantra often involves vows and samaya related to secret practice, this sub-forum has been created where Vajrayana practitioners can pose questions, and any of our members or staff can reply confidentially by PM.

ChNN treng mo/mala-divination question

Post by climb-up »

In ChNN’s book on mala divination he says that for more important questions we should generate the three numbers three times and then ‘find the average.’

How exactly does that work?
You can’t add and divide by three, so do you:
-add each sets of numbers and then subtract three from each?
(Eg. If the fist position was 3,2,2 we get 7, subtract three twice and end up with one)
Or
-do we interpret each of the three and find a theme, or larger answer, within those interpretations.
