Current and upcoming online events and livestreams

Post by Pårl »

Hello everyone. Here in Belgium everything is getting locked down again. I would like to continue my practise from home. Does anyone have any information about online events and livestreams that are happening in October, November and December 2020? It doesn't really matter which region - it just means an early morning, during the day, or late in the evening. Thanks in advance!

English is my mother tongue. But I can get by in French and German too. I really don't mind which country it's based in though - in fact I'm keen to broaden my knowledge of the world.

There is an offer for online (livestream) meditation in German: https://www.samtendargyeling.de/program ... -city.html
You have to find your way how to participate by yourself.
In this center in Hannover, Germany, there is a Geshe Lama (Geshe Palden Öser, Tibetan) and a German nun (Thubten Kelsang, Austria).

It is the Gelug lineage (Dalai Lama).

Thanks Ayu and Brunelleschi.

I think with the world is right now, it would be helpful to share online resources so we can retain our sense of community.

There are several organizations by good Vajrayana teachers that have events online, and also programs that you can follow for daily practice. For example, Mingyur Rinpoche's Tergar, has a good beginner program https://beta.tergar.org/joy-of-living/ There are also several other programs for more experienced practitioners (though these require you to attend certain retreats and receive the required transmissions).

Other somewhat similar options are
Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche's https://dharmasun.org/tte/

Tsoknyi Rinpoche's https://www.fullybeing.org/

All three of these also have online events now and then, other than the courses themselves.

I can't find the link but B Alan Wallace is doing a 1 day Dzogchen retreat on October 31. It appeared to me to be free for Wisdom Experience members.

Hello, I personally follow the online teachings from Jamyang Buddhist Centre that is in London.
Here the Calendar https://courses.jamyang.co.uk/whats-on.
It is a Tibetan Mahayana Buddhist that follow HH The Dalai Lama's lineage. The majority of the events are free or donation based, and of course they teach in English!
The actual resident teacher is Geshe Tenzin Namdak and his teachings are online and live as well.
Plus because they are part of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, they also have a common FPMT Calendar with all the online Buddhist Events in UK from the FPTM centres. This FPMT calendar is available in the homepage https://jamyang.co.uk.

Hoping that all this is useful to you :namaste:

Thanks Pempa !

Indeed it is helpful I have been going through other suggestions and will check this one out. I have a week off work next week, so it'll be a good chance to look at all of these with a nice cup of tea.
