Maybe Dudjom Lingpa was an emanation of Shardza Gyaltsen? Who knows, the ways of Bön are sometimes mysterious... ;)

Oh, I once heard a story of an (Indian) saint who as a child fell into a well and was saved by none other than himself as an adult.

Not harder to believe for me than people dissolving into rainbow light...

Tashi delek,

See here Geshela A Sönam from Menri Monastery as the author of some Bön books.
Know him personal and know he has excellent skills regarding many Bön topics.

Geshela A Sönam is direct connected to H.E. the Menri Ponlop Rinpoche, therefore his books are to the point.
and can be seen as authentic.

Just wanted to point out that "Self-Arising Three-fold Embodiment of Enlightenment" is now available on Amazon. Strangely enough, the prices for the book vary extensively among different countries (e.g. in the UK the cheapest version on Amazon seems to be 75 £, whereas on Amazon.com it's 37 USD), not sure why.

there are something like "early bird" prices.....
when the books are everywhere available the prices fall.
many book-shops try to do this at first
sometimes there are early-bird-discounts

The great thing about the Bon sub-forum is that nearly nobody reads here. In any case:

Two additional publications have been made available in the meanwhile. For more details, see here: https://www.pointingoutthegreatway.org/books/

- The Six Lamps [this one was already available before by other authors, however the Geshe Sonam and Daniel Brown in combo have already delivered outstanding material in the past, so it might be worth comparing the existing editions with his one.]
- Heart Drops of Kun tu bZang po. This book has been known before as "Heart Drops of Dharmakaya". However, said book was not actually a complete translation of the original text, and so did not contain some details that can be found in this book.

Note that the only reason why I actually advertise these books here is because the deceased HH Menri Trizin asked the authors to translate and publish this material to the public. So, he wanted this material to be made available to prospective students, although obviously there is a danger of misunderstanding or misinterpreting such material.

And while talking about Bon books on Dzogchen. Does anyone know this one:

Rainbow Body - Loel Guinness
https://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-Body-Loe ... =8-1-spell

I really don't want to spend > 100 USD on a book I could not at least have a thorough look at, but the reviews are really good.

I have this book and like it a lot. It is a clear and easily understandable introduction into all the relevant concepts of Bon Dzogchen.
I haven't finished it yet though.

Would it be possible for you to post the outline of the chapters, i.e. the index at the beginning of the book? That would give an idea what the book actually contains.

Edit: Was able to find them here: https://www.londonbookfair.co.uk/__nova ... 5275430000

The Twenty-One Nails by Tapihritsa has also been published and is now available (e.g. from Amazon). Note that there already exist other/earlier translations of this book.

Apparently, The Precious Treasury of the Expanse and Awakened Awareness: The Ornaments of the Definitive Secret by Shardza Gyaltsen has been published. But oddly enough, it's marked as "temporarily out of stock" on Amazon, not sure why. Either already out of stock, or too early and not yet really available. Given the enourmous size of 1200 pages it's an investment, though.

And a dramatic waste of time and money. The "translator" is not a the level of understanding the language of the text he "translates".

I thought that since these texts were translated under the guidance of the Gyalwa Thirty-Third Menri Trizin, that they would at least be decent translations.
