That the Purpose of Love is to Love everyone like the Buddha does, fully, and equally.

I mentioned my occasional insomnia to a teacher. He said, "That's a good time to practice!"

Don't you get groggy and stuff? I've always found it hard. It's like a heavy cloud is on my mind.I mentioned my occasional insomnia to a teacher. He said, "That's a good time to practice!"

You know, it's hard sometimes. I often feel angry that I can't get to sleep and I'll have wasted another day catching up on sleep that I lost in the night. And when I feel this much anger and frustration, I want to do anything but practice. But I also can't do much else, which adds to the frustration! All I have to go on are vague memories of times when practicing in this condition mostly or completely relieved my bad feeling and brought peace.avatamsaka3 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 9:18 pmDon't you get groggy and stuff? I get groggy in the daytime when I'm down on sleep. But often mantra is the best medicine for my grogginess. Maybe 3-7 rounds of my favorite mantras. Physical exercise like pushups and core also help as a foundation to ready my body and mind for subtle work.

I'm fine with insomnia, thanks for your concern. Let's not derail the thread any further.

I don't know if this is really an advice, but... sharing anyhow:
To the disciple who asked him about the Truth
without a word
he showed a flower.
This appeared on the beginning of the film: Why The Bodhidharma Left for the East.
It's obviously the Flower Sermon, very important in Zen, and to me.
