Playfulness and Dharma

Post by joy&peace »

Playfulness, spontaneity and the Dharma

open

do meditate,

then please share. :)

I have noticed, playfulness is an aspect of dharma - not playfulness in any aspect of untruthfulness - Buddha shared, don't be untruthful even in play, as untruthfulness is the gateway to all other mistakes -

yet in many of the Vajrayana writings and songs, spontaneity is an aspect of a realized one ( words are not descriptive )

and there does indeed seem to be this quality in Dharma teachers

so - spontaneity and play,

& the Dharma

okay :)

I picked up the expression yaay-o quite a few years back :)

I heard it, and liked it, and still do.

Play for the sake of play is healthy enough ... and fun :woohoo:

What of plafulness that moves us on? That of course requires skill. Not so easy when others set the rules they feel are worth playing by ...

Must be time to find a bigger playground! :juggling:

... and now back to the spectator sports ...

hm interesting..... ok, samadhi of playfulness. thanks, i get that. ...it is true that there is some uplifting quality to buddhism. something about "cheering up" when you let go of self-focus, in favor of basic awareness, compassion, joy in others' accomplishments and so on... :consoling:
i dedicate this post to your happiness, the causes of your happiness, the absence of your suffering the causes of the absence of your suffering that we may not have too much attachment nor aversion. SAMAYAMANUPALAYA

Just small contemplation;
Playfulness could be called the nature of selflessness as compassion is the nature of emptiness. Freed from our karmic intentional action by our idea of self and its’ effect, spontaneous action is wisdoms’ play.
Specially in the Dzogchen teachings there is often the expression “play of Mind”. Action, sound, …whatever phenomena, in-out = play. Since this is so, selfless nature can be called playful, while of course whatever it is called, changes nothing on our Nature at all.
“We are each living in our own soap opera. We do not see things as they really are. We see only our interpretations. This is because our minds are always so busy...But when the mind calms down, it becomes clear. This mental clarity enables us to see things as they really are, instead of projecting our commentary on everything.” Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo.
