Stay at a monastery ?

Post by Magala »

Hello, does anyone know if I could spend few weeks in a California monastery (I certainly would pay for my stay or donate) ? If yes, which one ? Thank you.

Look up which ones exist and email them to ask.
Happy Pride month to my queer dharma siblings!

What do you see when you turn out the lights?

People will be better able to help if you would specify tradition.

Do you want to learn stuff or just practice yourself? How long do you want to stay? If you could provide a little more info that would be helpful.

I’m moving to Los Angeles with my dog after a stressful stay in another country and would prefer to be in an inspiring and peaceful environment if I have to pay rent anyway. I have received great mentorship from a Tibetan lama and could benefit from more practice for sure, however it’s not the main purpose. I hope it makes sense…
