Ngondro required for Chod?
Ngondro required for Chod?
Is it necessary to complete Ngondro before receiving a Chod empowerment / teachings (LN, for example) and undertaking the practise?

Completion of ngondro is not required for receiving chod empowerment. (FYI, there is no chod empowerment in Longchen Nyingthig, although some Teachers will give a different empowerment to "open the sky door.") Ask your Teacher about practice.

Yes, but in the Chod-tradition it is called "opening the door to the sky"javier.espinoza.t wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 7:07 pmdoes this mean to open the brahma door?pemachophel wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 11:21 pm Completion of ngondro is not required for receiving chod empowerment. It is actually a direct introduction. You transfer your consciousness in to the sky and rest there.javier.espinoza.t wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 7:07 pmdoes this mean to open the brahma door?pemachophel wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 11:21 pm Completion of ngondro is not required for receiving chod empowerment.
