Eurovision Songcontest

Post by Ayu »

Outing: I'll watch it. It just started.
Honestly I do not like most of these songs, but some. And I enjoy the diversity of nationalities and I'm interested in how the musicians deal with this irresistable exitement and stagefright.

Australia will participate, I don't know why. But who likes to watch it there on a sunday morning at 5:00 a.m.???

My country:

My favorites are Lattvia, Australia (I think, I'll vote for both), Germany and Italy (I do not vote for, just have sympathy for these songs).
Also Cyprus sung nicely, but it sounded familiar somehow, like a mixture of two very famous songs.

I bet, the songs I was voting for will not win and Germany will reach the 12th place.
They start giving points now for a long time...

Konchita Vurst is there again. It's like the 4chan personal song contest. We are not in this embarrassment (which is amazing because otherwise we don't skip, and our children Eurovision song was terrifying and now they play it all over the radio). I don't know if it's better that you chose Black smoke to Heart of stone. The first sound horrible and the second gives me cold chills but I'm glad you're entertaining. I hope next time to have better performances. I always do. :P

I too am having music background here  but it's not from Eurovision. It's loud of course, turbofolk. It's like they are celebrating Eurovision in their own way (strange way).

Can you explain the points. I really like to follow what's happening in Eurovision although I don't watch it? Is it not from voting? I bet all Russians all over the world was wake up to send SMS or whatever but?

I noted the places above. The winner is Sweden.
Russia second place - it was a beautiful performance with a white dressed lady standing within spinning stars. Very well sung, both Russia and Sweden. But the songs and the melodies did not fit my taste. Boring. A real pity.

I think you can find it at youtube for sure.

If it will make you feel better we only do turbofolk music recently here :D and even it is so bad that the new generation don't like it and prefers to listen to turbofolk "classics" and old hits. Anyway, it's so bad we don't even take part of the tournament anymore as you can see, so you can relax :P

Really, a white dressed lady among stars? They must have stolen this from somewhere? Let me think about it!

Yes, this was my thought also.

And the german singer looked like a buddha in the beginning. ;)

No, I don't feel bad.
It was only once that there won a song I voted for: Alexander Rybak for Norway in 2009. He got the highest number of points ever:

Context: our Prime Minister (famous for his red swimming trunks) was asked whether Australia would help Rohingya refugees by accepting some for resettlement, and said, "Nope, nope, nope." In doing so he was acting perfectly in character. He has far more in common with Putin that either of them would ever admit.

How sad - and true - this picture is.
The ESC was held under the motto "Building bridges between the countrys for peace and harmony". Something like that.
But it is only a nice show with pretty bad music.
So this satire is very fitting.

As I see it, Belgium was the best. Second Serbia, third Israel, fourth Sweden (but only because of the graphics). The rest was too generic and nothing interesting.

3 Neither cultivation nor seated meditation —
this is the pure Chan of Tathagata.

the six paramitas and myriad means
are complete within that essence.
