"Sua kauheesti kaipaan" by Hector (1962)
.

Does the tune seem familiar? This is no surprise, for it's actually the Finnish version of "Tell Laura I Love Her". The storyline is like Ray Peterson's American version except that Tommy's name has been mysteriously changed to Ilmari, which is the Finnish form of Ilmar, an Estonian name. Who knows why?

Anyhow, if you want to sing along, here are the lyrics. Unfortunately they've left out the "Boom boom boom" refrain, so whatever you do don't forget to insert it!
Laura ja Ilmari styylas
Ja Ilmari lahjoitti Lauralleen
Kukkaa, sukkaa, vaan rahnat ei riittäneet sormukseen!

Hän oli lähdössä viissatasten
Hän tiesi: tonnin saa voittaja sen
Ja varikolta soitti hän Lauralleen
Ja toisti tunteensa uudelleen ja uudelleen

Oi Laura, sua kaipaan
Niin kauheesti kaipaan!
Jos tänään en voitakaan
Niin huomenna taas sun olla saan!

Hän johti kierroksen ensimmäisen
Hän oli nuorin kai kilpailun sen
Vain ohimennen vilkaisi katsomoon päin
Kun koneen hallinnan menetti hän yllättäin!

Ei kukaan nähnyt, miten tapahtui tuo
Pian paarit kannettiin Ilmarin luo
Vain hetken hän oli enää tajuissaan
Mut ohut kuiskaus kuului vielä huuliltaan

Oi Laura, sua kaipaan
Niin kauheesti kaipaan!
Ei kuole mun rakkautein
Ei milloinkaan - et surra saa!

Jäi Laura istumaan kappeliin
Silmät peittyivät kyyneliin...
Hän muisti Ilmarin lupauksen
Vain kappelin seinät kuiskas hiljaa sen

Oi Laura, sua kaipaan
Niin kauheesti kaipaan!
Ei kuole mun rakkautein
Ei milloinkaan - et surra saa!

Oi Laura, sua kaipaan
Niin kauheesti kaipaan!
Oi Laura, sua kaipaan
Oi Laura!/quote]

Two versions of "Old Johnny Bugger", one a solo by John Dean and the other by Belladonna. Unfortunately they've both mysteriously left out the last verse, perhaps because of the expletive in it. The only one I can find that has the last verse is Jim Wearne's, but he can't sing for shit.

If you want to include the last verse when you sing it yourself, it goes:

Now Old Johnny died and he went up to heaven,
He got there about half past seven.
Saw St. Peter sitting by the gate,
Who said: "You'll have to bugger off 'cause you're too bloody late!"

Advisory note for millennials

The line, "Old Johnny Bugger was a gay old bugger, and a gay old bugger was he!" means that Johnny was a jolly old fellow. It doesn't mean that he was an ageing homosexual with a penchant for anal intercourse. If you're into that kind of thing then you'll have to look for the parody version, entitled "Old Johnny Bugger was a Gay Ass-f*cker".

Scriabin - Etudes op 8 no. 12 played by Vladimir Horowitz.

An unbelievable, cataclysmic force of nature - ecstatic, enthusiastic, incandescent and irresistable. Crescendissimo and accelerandissimo from beginning to the end. After listening to this every other pianist's rendition sounds like a hairdresser's.

:woohoo:

Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream;
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.

Doris Day letting the world know that the Atomic Age had begun in earnest.

"Tic, Tic, Tic", from the movie "My Dream is Yours", 1949.

.

Oh give me your attention
There's been a new invention
It isn't any larger than an adding machine
It's only fair to mention
Though it's a new invention
It's one that you have heard about but few have ever seen

It doesn't do division and it doesn't multiply
It doesn't want to be a bird, it doesn't try to fly
It came about because they made a big atomic bomb
The new invention's clicking and because of all its ticking
I know where the idea came from

I tic, tic, tic, why do I tic, tic?
What amazing trick, makes me tic, tic, tic
I tic, tic, tic, an electric tic
When I feel a realistic tic

You're such an attractive pick
Give me a radioactive kick
It's distracted the way you stick
But love, love makes me tic

I tic, tic, tic and my heart beats quick
How can anything go wrong?
When I'm listening to that Geiger counter song
I tic, tic all day long

I tic, tic, tic, why do I tic, tic?
What amazing trick, makes me tic-tic-tic-tic-tic
I tic, tic, tic, an electric tic
When I feel a realistic tic

Butcher and the baker tic
So does the maker of the candlesticks
Lawyers have their politics
But love, love makes them tic

So tic, tic, tic, let your heart tic, tic
How can anything go wrong?
If you're listening to that Geiger counter song
You'll tic, tic all day long

Like the butcher and baker tics
Like the candlestick maker tics
Like the doctor and the lawyer tics
Even though he's mixed up in his politics
Like the merchant and the Indian chief tic-tics
Like the poor, like the rich man tic-tic-tics
Digging a ditch man, the butter and egg man
The poor wooden leg man, the beggar and thief

All found out what its all about
When its love you can't be wrong
You better listen to that Geiger counter song
And tic tic all day long
Tic, tic-tic-tic, tic, tic, tic-tic-tic, tic, tic, tic-tic-tic
