I am very interested in the Huayan/Kegon school and its intepretations, doctrines, commentaries, beliefs, patriarchs, liturgy, canon of scriptures and so on, but there is not very much in the internet about it. The Avatamsaka sutra which is their central text is one of the most interesting texts of world literature.
There still exists the Kegon school in Japan but theyre internet presence is not so big. And like Shingon theyre not very keen to do missionary work (my impression). I never saw videos or teachings on the internet.
Does anybody practices in the Kegon school, knows anything about this tradition/school?
Is there a possibility in the near future for creating a subforum for the Huayan/Kegon school?
Re: Is there a possibility in the near future for creating a subforum for the Huayan/Kegon school?
The school does not really exist anymore. There are a couple Kegon-shu temples and maybe some lay families, but its not really a living school anymore.
There is no suffering to be severed. Ignorance and klesas are indivisible from bodhi. There is no cause of suffering to be abandoned. Since extremes and the false are the Middle and genuine, there is no path to be practiced. Samsara is nirvana. No severance achieved. No suffering nor its cause. No path, no end. There is no transcendent realm; there is only the one true aspect. There is nothing separate from the true aspect.

Thats really sad. I had the impression that besides the Kegon temples, that there were a small surviving lineage in mainland China.

That could be.
In any event, we will not be making a forum for a tradition that does not have any members who participate here. You are welcome to discuss the tradition in any of the appropriate general fora.

There's not much about it in English in general. At least in Korean Buddhism Hwaeom is upheld as the main form of the doctrinal teachings, so volumes 4 and 5 in The Collected Works of Korean Buddhism contain some original translations. However, note that there is no separate Hwaeom school.

there will be no seeing of a nature in any thing.

this is the pure Chan of Tathagata.
