Taking the 8-Mahayana 24 hour Precepts

Post by Hazel »

I am taking them with a teacher I've been following. I'm excited. This is the first time taking any kind of formal vow, even just for 24 hours.

Apparently this means I'm committing to be a student of the Geshe, which is a good percentage of why I'm doing it.

Anyways, figured I'd share because it seems like a big step of sorts....
Happy Pride month to my queer dharma siblings!

Congratulations on taking the vows! They're an incredible practice.

You'll find out on the day if you are taking the precepts from the geshe or just leading in taking them from the Buddha image, both are common in the West.
