Who told you Achi was ever a worldly Dakini? She is an emanation of Vajrayogini.Danny wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 10:15 pmGenuinely I’m very interested, as far as I understand achi Drolma is a worldly Dakini, so I’m interested as to what elevated her.Crazywisdom wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 5:19 amA Drikung lama will tell you differently. Time will tell if we are passing time in waste or understanding the essence of the dharma.
Devotion is not enough.
Like I said... time is passing us by.
Many people attend empowerment and have no idea what is happening...
That is passing time wastefully.
Devotion might as well be superstition...
if we don’t understand what is the essence.
Both are ignorance. And nothing to do with dharma.
I’m happy to be told I’m wrong...could you explain that?
I’m not shiLt ing on anyone’s practice, devotion or belief,
But it has to make sense, no need to appeal to “lama” authorities with me, it don’t cut it.
I’m asking how worldly dakinis, which we don’t take refuge or anything etc.. bla bla you know what I’m saying to suddenly- guru yoga, is a Buddha etc.
You tell me like I’m a two year old how that happens?
Thanks
Achi Chokyi Drolma Yidam

She was never a worldly Dakini. She is an emanation of Vajrayogini. She was a real person. She is the great grandmother of Lord Jigten Sumgon. She was also a great practioner and a karmamudra to Guru Padmasambhava. So even if she weren't an emanation of Buddha she achieved enlightenment through vajrayana. She wrote her own sadhanas. So she was also a guru with disciples. That's how come she can be a guru yoga subject.Danny wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 10:15 pmGenuinely I’m very interested, as far as I understand achi Drolma is a worldly Dakini, so I’m interested as to what elevated her.Crazywisdom wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 5:19 amA Drikung lama will tell you differently. This paper contains an extensive discussion of Achi, including a translation of one of her important hagiographies, etc.

That didn’t illuminate much, good PHD though.Malcolm wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 3:37 pm https://diginole.lib.fsu.edu/islandora/ ... u%3A254364

Lots of troupes.
The only part of interest was the lore blurb about hierarchy.
So it just reinforces the cultural “norms”.

In other words she protects the dharma not the practioner.
In a country of dharma practioners, why protect the dharma? From what?
Oath bound?
Also means something no?
I could go on .. but so what.
