White Tara mantra

Post by philji »

There seem to be two variations of White Tara mantra.
1.
Oṃ Tāre Tuttāre Ture Mama Ayuḥ Punya Jñānā Puśtiṃ Kuru Svāhā.
2.
Om Tare Tuttare Ture Mama Ayurjnana Punye Pushting Svaha.
Any idea why the difference? Do different lineages use one or other?

Those 2 versions exists.
Ayuh is long life
Punyah is merit
Jnana is wisdom
Pustim prosperity

May she illuminates your mind and make your life flourish, and also for everyone open to receive.

There are more than just two different White Tara mantras. The two you have listed are variations but definitely different.

There is at least a third White Tara mantra (from a terma).

I'm not sure that anyone has examined the different variations or different White Tara mantra. Having said that, White Tara is a deity that doesn't seem to have that many variations.
