Tsigdön Dzö translations?

Post by Rune »

Hello all :anjali:

Does anybody know anything about the presumably in process translations of Tsigdön Dzö, by Richard Barron and David Germano?

I'm not excactly in the loop, but it's hinted here and there that both are working on a translation.
Germano's would be a continuation of his phd, I guess (in 4 Vols?), and Barron's a continuation of his mammoth project on the 7 Treasuries.

What a massive undertaking, to translate that!
And what a fantastic gift we all got from Longchenpa! Unbelievable.

I think that project was cancelled for lack of funding.

and David Germano?
To be published by Wisdom, or so I have heard.

But you will never get a better explanation that Khenpo Namdrol's commentary.

Thank you!

Do you mean this one?:

And thank you for your work.
I've learned a lot from you, here and on Wisdom.

May I ask, are you considering translating further Tantras? I've been looking around, but there's nothing definite out there. Hope it's OK that I ask you directly, then :emb:

Sad to hear about lack of funding for Barron's 7 Treasuries. Wish I could fund it myself!

Take this to heart. This is not an easy read. It’s a long-term endeavor. But to say it’s worth it is an understatement.
