Kunjed Gyalpo:The Supreme Source
Re: Kunjed Gyalpo:The Supreme Source
"All phenomena of samsara depend on the mind, so when the essence of mind is purified, samsara is purified. Since the phenomena of nirvana depend on the pristine consciousness of vidyā, because one remains in the immediacy of vidyā, buddhahood arises on its own. All critical points are summarized with those two." - Longchenpa

Good book , we have in our library, series 1 to 6 .
Am actual reading book 3.
Do not know if this version is complete after book 6.......
Saw Jim made also some corrections regarding his translations.
This is his master piece and it is, no doubt about it.

I don't know about corrections. Could you elaborate what this would be?kalden yungdrung wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 3:49 pmGood book , have series 1 to 6 .

Volume 1 is in a 2nd edition, I believe due to 1st edition being sold out. What remains to be published are the following two volumes:
Volume 7, Longchenpa's Kunjed Düdön and Rinchen Druwo, Nov-2018
Volume 8, root text, chapters 1-84, with Tibetan critical edition, Sep-2019

Yes, I am very glad that we have translators working on the tantras and texts of Dzogchen. Jim Valby, Malcolm, Jean-Luc Achard, etc. I'm so happy they do what they do.

and some paperbacks / simple booklets from Dharamsala / Tibetan Library.
Nowadays this has changed due to the western translators and there are many , some top (practitioners and translators), academics or a mix of both.
The best translations are imo, done by translators, who do the practice about what they write / translate and have a Guru / Master as back support.
JLA is such a translator as far as i know, but there are more of course.

Re: Kunjed Gyalpo:The Supreme Source
In ChNNR’s rendering of the Kunjed Gyalpo, in Chapter 30 where it says “The universal path in harmony with that [nature] manifests as the moon and its support,” what is the symbol / image being described? What is ‘the moon and its support’? Is this like the moon over a lotus or something? Just curious.

i believe "it's support" refers to the support for it's reflection.meepits wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 5:36 pm In ChNNR’s rendering of the Kunjed Gyalpo, in Chapter 30 where it says “The universal path in harmony with that [nature] manifests as the moon and its support,” what is the symbol / image being described? it's an expression that you can find in the dorsem namkha che iron commentary
true dharma is inexpressible.
The bodhisattva nourishes from bodhicitta, through whatever method the Buddha has given him. Oh joy.

Yes, the root tantra of Longde is the Longchen Rabjam Gyalpo tantra. Another key root text is famous Dorje Zampa, aka Vajra Bridge, written by Vairotsana.
