It seems that some meditation practices will accelerate the brain (gamma waves for example) while other practices will slow down (theta waves).
What do you know about that? Which practices will produce what?
Thanks

Re: Gamma wave meditation
I've just been researching this topic. I find it's best to say that this particular study indicates something, rather than making a general statement. A lot of studies provide conflicting conclusions on the neuroscience of meditation, and there are many issues related to study design and limitations. But there was a study of Zen monks that concluded that in meditation their brains produced gamma waves. So you could try to find that study and see... I'm guessing they were doing shinkantaza.
