One of my family members who had Covid passed just now, and the other is fighting for her life in the hospital. Your prayers etc. would be really appreciated.

May your Wonderful family and family members have the strongest and most easy passage as well as recovery.

For those who deeply Love others the real life is in Loving others, and death cannot bar them from doing such a thing. I pray for your family member to have many lifetimes in the Amida Buddha land, and a the other to have swift recovery, as well as for them to maintain a presence amidst your life.

You can do Dorje Gotrab for your family members. Recite it over water, give it to them to drink.

Thanks all. They are in another state and hospitalized with COVID. Seeing family directly is out of the question for them. They are utterly alone, and probably one of them died alone, certainly without seeing the family.

So it’s all the more appreciated if people dedicate to them, etc.

Just to contextualize the calligraphy I shared, and its connection to COVID, here is some information:
Koloa Jodo Mission in Hawaii wrote:This calligraphy is called "Riken Myogo" or "The Beneficial Sword of the Holy Name" (of Amida Buddha). This original printing block was made by Rev. Taijo Matsuo, the 1st Jodo Shu minister in Hawaii in 1894. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, this block was found at Hakushinji Temple in Iida city, Nagano Prefecture. This sword style of "Namu Amida Butsu" was written by various priests and was especially associated with prayers to end epidemics in Japan.
The text written behind "Namu Amida Butsu" translates as:
The "beneficial sword" is indeed the Holy Name of Amida Buddha.

Just a vocalization of "Namu Amida Butsu" will remove all sins.
It's a quotation of Zendo Daishi (Shantao) about the benefits of the practice.

I hope since your first post, JD, that your loved ones' connections to the Dharma have been strengthened by the prayers here. The more infectious COVID variant in the US has me preoccupied.

Hey all, I had a second family member pass today after a protracted battle with Covid 19. Please if you can find a minute do some practice for them, include them in your dedication, etc.. as well as their children who are struggling badly with the loss.
