Books about miraculous things on Tibetan Buddhism

Post by Nosta »

Are there some good books regarding the amazing lore and stories about tibetan buddhism?

I specially love these stories about termas, flying monks, miraculous things....you know, the fireworks and all that stuff :)

Thanks

Blazing Splendor is a good biography and quite magical at times.

If you want a novel, then I suggest my personal favourite Mipam The Lama of the Five Wisdoms
“Observing samaya involves to remain inseparable from the union of wisdom and compassion at all times, to sustain mindfulness, and to put into practice the guru’s instructions”. Garchen Rinpoche

For those who do virtuous actions,
goodness is what comes to pass.
For those who do non-virtuous actions,
that becomes suffering indeed.

I dont seek novels, only biographys, documentary/factual things, etc.

Cool. Let me know what you think of you check it out.
I especially recommend Magic and Mystery.
Very cool accounts of pre 1950s Tibet

I will check that one. But I am seeing another advice that I got by PM, the book "The Miraculous 16th Karmapa".

You should read The Life of Milarepa. It is full of this stuff and is a great story.

I am reading the Miraculous 16th Karmapa. Indeed, very interesting! Altought I dont have a way to confirm if the stories are real or not, I believe on them. I suppose that many of the witnesses are honest and just telling the things they really saw happening.

I am in the early chapters, I ant to read more :)

Thanks for the advice.
