Hello, Is there a meditation center in Thailand based on Mahayana Buddhism?

From memory, someone here has said that there is. I can't recall any details but a search on "Thailand" my find the topic.

There is a Shambhala centre in Bangkok. It is located in Sukhumvit, not far from the Asoke BTS Skytrain station or the Sukhumvit MRT station. If you walk from either of these stations, you might want to avoid walking down Soi Cowboy. There is also a New Kadampa centre in Chiang Mai (but not recommended).

Thai Chinese make up around 14% of Thailand's population, so there are Chinese-style temples around too. If you're in Bangkok, you can find a couple in Yaowarat.

Maybe some useful links?

The third link mentions wat dhammakaya. A monk there once told me about his teacher, a great female practitioner who has since passed away. He said she was a 10th level bodhisattva. He told me that sometimes she would look into the past to see how the Buddhas practiced the 6 paramitas.

I also know of a Mahayana Theravada group in Sri Lanka. They are in the Pa Auk Sayadaw lineage founded by the late Ariyadhamma. I believe they can choose to practice mahayana or shravakayana path.

When I visited Thailand, I met a businessman who took me and my friend into his home. He took us to an interesting (slightly shamanic) group in the forest, and I noticed some statues of Guanyin. I'm not sure what it meant... but I'll bet there are many instances of mahayana influence like this in Thai temples.

A bit of googling "mahayana buddhism in thailand" shows that there are a number of Mahayana temples in Thailand, mostly belonging to Thai practitioners of Chinese descent.

Looks like there is also a Nyingma center and a couple Bonpo centers in Thailand:
