Master and disciple relationship . Shitei Sotai

Post by Shotenzenjin »

The master and disciple relationship is indispensable to practice Budhism.

The type of master and disciple relationship we should follow in Nichiren Shoshu True Buddhism is like the one between Nichiren Daishonin the true Buddha of the age of mappo and the second high priest Nikko Shonin

In the "document for entrusting the law that Nichiren Daishonin propogated through out his life. "Nichiren ichigo guho fuzokusho" the Daishonin states

"I Nichiren, transfer the entirety of the law that I have propogated throughout my life to Byakuren Ajari Nikko and designate him the great master of propogation of the essential teaching.

The order of the heritage of the law : from Nichiren to Nikko. Gosho p 1675

The master transmits Buddhism to the disciples by placing full trust in them. The disciples learn Buddhism while serving their master.

The three great secret laws expounded by the Daishonin were entirely entrusted to only one of all his disciples. This single person was Nikko Shonin.

Like smoke that reaches far beyond the clouds.--nichimoku shonin. Third high priest of Nichiren Shoshu
