I am new to Buddhism, but very interested and keen to learn. I see that the Buddhist Society in London offer a Correspondence Course in Basic Buddhism. Has anyone studied on this course?
Failing that, can anyone suggest what books would be useful to a beginner?

There are quite a few beginner books. It could be good to read one or two and see how they sit with you.
