Gelug Mahamudra sources

Post by Javierfv1212 »

Seeing as how there's already a thread that lists Kagyu Mahamudra texts (stickied) but not one which collects Gelug materials, I thought there should be a thread for Gelug Mahamudra links and texts, so here is what I have found so far:

Root texts

The Fourth Panchen Lama Chokyi Gyaltsen, Gelug Kagyu Mahamudra Root Text

Alexander Berzin translation (text and audio)
https://studybuddhism.com/en/tibetan-bu ... -mahamudra

Glen Svenson's translation of the text and some of the autocommentary:

Commentaries on this root text

14th Dalai Lama, Commentary on "A Root Text for Mahamudra"

14th Dalai Lama, A Discourse on "Autocommentary to 'A Root Text for Mahamudra'"

Commentary on "Root Text for Mahamudra" – Geshe Ngawang Dhargyey

Yongdzin Yeshe Gyaltsen (Khachen Yeshe Gyaltsen, 1713–93), "The Lamp of the Clear and Excellent Path of the Oral Tradition Lineage" (Yongs-'dzin ye shes rgyal mtshan). To my knowledge, this remains untranslated at the moment.

If anyone knows of any more sources available online or otherwise please contribute.
It is quite impossible to find the Buddha anywhere other than in one's own mind.
A person who is ignorant of this may seek externally,
but how is it possible to find oneself through seeking anywhere other than in oneself?
Someone who seeks their own nature externally is like a fool who, giving a performance in the middle of a crowd, forgets who he is and then seeks everywhere else to find himself.
