Hello, Dharma friends! I am new to practicing Buddhism and have been studying and reading about it over the last year, on and off. This year I decided to put what I read into practice, and I've finally begun meditating and attending a sangha. At present, I lean towards a Zen-influenced practice, but I want to study both Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism, and Buddhism more generally, because the history of the religion fascinates me. I've been reading "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" as well as the work of Thanissaro Bhikkhu and Bhikkhu Bodhi, and Thanissaro's guided meditations have helped me in figuring out how to meditate. I'm also interested in the history of Buddhism, particularly how it influenced the literature and culture of each country it came to.
I look forward to studying the Buddhadharma with you good people. May we all find happiness, and may all beings find happiness.
Greetings to all!
