Nyonchung
may sound Korean, but is tibetan: smyon chung, small mad man
French, so sorry for approximate English and sorry for typos - very poor eyesight
Also sorry for the fact that I have a very poor idea of the present Dharma scene in the US, s;my posts may sound terribly irrelevant to readers
entered Dharma some 40 years back, learned Tibetan, received and practiced a few teachings, not a scholar in a Tibetan sense, but since long doing research on Tibetan biographical and historical litterarure
spent some time in Nepal, India and visited Tibet often when it was still relatively easy
Did a few pilgrimages and studied relevant texts
My background is mostly Karma-kagyü (from Bokar Rinpoché and Tenga Rinpoché, Shangpa-kagyü (from the late Kalu Rinpoché - haven't been doing the retreat but received the initiations plus various instructions) and Nyingma (Rinchen Terdzö, with special interest in the Chogling Tersar - the disparition of Tsiké Chokling was a great shock, even I only met him only a few time)
I read with great pleasure biographies of all schools, unfortunately never had time to develop Sakya connections with Phendé Rinpoché
Please keep in mind what Dilgo Khyentsé said before his departure (not in a Tibetan context, this I and you all): you may not understand, but the time will quicly come when you will not be able / allowed to practice Dharma, don't loose time.
I see this coming, the dark clouds of materialism and nihilism

Nice to know there’s a little more about you! From a fellow DakShang guy…..and poor student of Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche…

"Absolute Truth is not an object of analytical discourse or great discriminating wisdom,
It is realized through the blessing grace of the Guru and fortunate Karmic potential.
Like this, mistaken ideas of discriminating wisdom are clarified."
