Dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters, I am Chris and I live in SE Asia, but I am English by birth. I have been interested and followed in Theravada practices for about 25 years, but I am finding myself becoming more and more drawn toward Certain aspects of Mahayana for reasons too long winded to explain. My intention is to continue with my current practice but I also want to investigate how I can incorporate the aspects of Mahayana that I feel I am moving toward.
That is my intro and reason for being here. With Best Regards.
Greetings Dharma Brothers and Sisters!
Re: Greetings Dharma Brothers and Sisters!
Welcome my friend! As the Lotus Sutra states:
So have firm faith that the Ekayana is contained throughout all of Buddhism. We are all Buddhists under the Same Three Jewels, and the Buddha Vehicle Siddhartha preaches, the Great Law, encompasses all of Buddhism. May you find Peace within. Om.
-Lotus Sutra, Chapter 2: Expedient Means. In the Buddha lands of the ten directions
there is only the Law of the one vehicle,
there are not two, there are not three,
except when the Buddha preaches so as an expedient means,
merely employing provisional names and terms
in order to conduct and guide living beings
and preach to them the Buddha wisdom.
So have firm faith that the Ekayana is contained throughout all of Buddhism. We are all Buddhists under the Same Three Jewels, and the Buddha Vehicle Siddhartha preaches, the Great Law, encompasses all of Buddhism. May you find Peace within. Om.
