Re: Study on Telepathy

Well, this is more about proving telepathy exists with objective evidence. No matter what we think, it's but an opinion without proof.

Study on Telepathy

Meanwhile, with the rise of quantum biology, Radin can start to tug at the beginning of an explanation for the correlation that rises between people who are physically separated. Telepathy, he says, looks something like quantum entanglement: When things are correlated at a distance without energy t...

Re: severe pain

Severe anger can cause bodily harm in some ways, it put's alot of stress on your body and mind. I don't think it's unusually to feel tense/slight pain in the chest and stomach after a severe anger outburst. Especially if it's prolonged or serious. On a side note, if English is your primary language,...

I against I

Who am I? A Fool, and a Ghost -- Hungry only for things I can never have. I am a Thought, a Story, and a Perspective -- I am only things which can never last. I am an Actor, a Narrator, and a Phantom -- I am a story that writes itself. Perturbed by all the things I am not, I ask myself; "Why Am...

Re: Animal Loses Head But Remembers Everything

One thing that needs to be made clear is that these worms do not retain their memory when regenerated from a single cell, but only when their heads are removed. This is not so surprising when it is remembered that such simple organisms do not have a centralised nervous system, that is, their 'brain...

Animal Loses Head But Remembers Everything

These worms can regenerate their entire bodies from a single cell, and once they finish regenerating, their working memory stays in tact. Craziness. http://www.npr.org/blogs/krulwich/2013/12/31/258399090/animal-loses-head-but-remembers-everything "What we do know is that memory can be stored ou...

Re: Alien & UFOs thread...

It's hilarious to consider that we humans can't even communicate with other intelligent species that live on earth yet. (Dolphins, Certain Species of monkeys, which are both very similar us compared to other animals.), If we did meet another advanced species, would we even recognize it outside of th...

Re: Eckart Tolle - master of the park bench

Imo Buddhism isn't anything to be defended, it's just a tool. There's no reason to be so defensive over it, nor think it is superior to other religions. It is more effective at reliving suffering than many others, That's it, it's not the 'right' religion, or 'the correct' religion. At the end of the...

Re: KAMIWAZA 2013 Champion

I'm not sure exactly what the competition is about, I just came across the video while surfing. I think it's pretty amazing the whole thing is balanced so well that knocking something as light as the feather off destroys it.

Sorry, If I'm upsetting you Jesse, it's not meant to be upsetting, but it is obviously challenging. This will now only be my 8th post, hopefully that doesn't disqualify me from expressing a point of view. But I apologise again if it has upset you. Then express your point of view, just do it by atta...

Re: Oprah sits down with Jack Kornfield

So, responsibly conveying Dharma means making meaningless gestures of abstinence from the public eye, from two of the most well known Buddhist leaders in the world? Yes. "meaningless gestures" is your evaluation of it, but not mine. These appearances dumb-down the public expectation and u...

Re: Oprah sits down with Jack Kornfield

Does that include TNH and HHDL? They've both been interviewed by Oprah also, if I recall correctly. Maybe all three of these teachers and probably any Dharma/Dhamma teacher has different messages depending on context. So when speaking on Oprah you give messages easily understood for mass consumptio...

Re: Zen and engaged Buddhism?

The ultimate charity is to teach people the dharma. Near all the masters of the past did that. Bodhidharma coming to China was an act of charity. The Bodhisattva vow to save all beings is quite charitable. Yes, I agree. I have no doubt about the "charity" of great Buddhist masters...

Re: "...but the science of Buddhism will never change."

It's the same crisis fundamentalist Christianity is facing against atheism. We are logical creatures by nature, and it's a difficult struggle to pick out the weeds, and keep the jewels, whether based in reason or wisdom. It's up to each of us to practice to the best of our ability, and in my (And ma...
