Re: Tummo and Tsa Lung Meditation

Malcolm, these are publicly posted teachings available online, with no mention of restrictions or empowerment. The OM AH HUNG vajra recitation is given freely and even in public settings. The teachings on the Six Yogas are general and don't involve actual practice instructions from what I remember, ...

Re: Tummo and Tsa Lung Meditation

Garchen Rinpoche openly gives instructions on the OM AH HUNG vajra recitation, which is a form of tsa lung/tummo. I'll see if i can find some links for ya. I agree with Cone, though, in that you need a teacher to work with these things and not go astray, and that context is key.

Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche's Dorsem terma is pretty darn pithy. Like 3 English pages, most of which is the visualization. I can email you a copy. PM me.

Apparently i didn't read the whole article. I saw ads and wrongly thought i had reached the conclusion. Now that I've read it i agree. If that's what he really did (and all statements thus far seem to corroborate that it was reported as such years ago), then he's a total creep and has no business of...

nice try... given the 1st half of your thesis - that helpful teachings/ideas can come from flawed individuals, which to me is obvious but beside the point here, why do you need to "not want Lodro to be guilty"? Sure, in theory we too should wish that no one ever commits wrongdoings and th...

Re: Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo & Lama Tsultrim Allione: Shambhala's Sakyong Mipham

I keep coming back to the fact that legitimate Dharma teachings can be given by messed up individuals. I've seen this happen in my own experience with my entry onto the path (unbeknownst to me at the time) being thru a fledgling cult. My friends exposed me to the Dharma while following this wannabe ...

Re: Drupon Thinley Ningpo - Yangzab Varahi and Shamatha Mahamudra Retreat (July 20-23)

I do have an update for you, Miroku. While the empowerments and transmissions weren't webcast today, the organizer of DDCV told us that if we remind him he'll upload the many Yangzab Vajravarahi and Achi Chökyi Drölma teachings that they've received over the years. Additionally, on Ustream or YouTub...

Re: Dream of being Hayagriva

Hayagriva (Tamdrin to Tibetans) features heavily in the Yangzab terma cycle held in Drikung Kagyu, being the yidam of the Yangzab Three Roots. Do you remember your color(s), attributes, and the actual mantra from your dream, @fckw? Those details could help you narrow down which precise form you're l...

Re: Meaning of Kamtsang

Ok. So S+N=K, and K= KK. Not quite. Kamtsang is a lineage, and both Surmang and Neydo are sub-lineages or branches of that which have their own specials emphases, practices, teachings, and lineage holders. Surmangpas don't necessarily add in Neydo and vice versa, nor do all Kamtsangpas mix Surmang ...

Re: Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo & Lama Tsultrim Allione: Shambhala's Sakyong Mipham

I'm beginning to think that the only crazy wisdom we really need these days is a radical respect towards women that breaks from the patriarchal norm; that actually acknowledges them as not only being embodiments of the feminine divine, but as human beings, too, and therefore their equal rights to ed...

Dude obviously Shambhala has done more damage to Dharma than one Sakyapa. Nyingma and Kaygu and their late heads now have a thick shadow cast on them. It makes it even worse that Osel was drinking while abusing. The Sakyapa guy seems to have been just cheating on his wife (obviously no good but way...

Shambhala Publications emailed this out today: Positive Shame Shame is a loaded word for Westerners. Like most things, it can be seen in a positive or negative light. Negative shame is accompanied by guilt and self-denigration. It is pointless and doesn’t help us even slightly. Positive shame, on th...

Re: Drupon Thinley Ningpo - Yangzab Varahi and Shamatha Mahamudra Retreat (July 20-23)

Miroku, I'm not 100% sure, as I've not heard yea or nay from the organizer, but in general Drupön Rinpoche doesn't do webcasts. And as far as Yangzab Varahi goes, he's actually asked at least one other DDC not to record his teachings related to the Yangzab Six Yogas. So it's just a guess, but i have...
