Re: Guru Rinpoche devotional practices

Controversial doesn't have to mean wrong. Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche was also considered controversial. If you have trust in Garchen Rinpoche go for it. Correct, controversial does not mean wrong. It means controversial. It means that there are doubts. The purpose of pointing this out is that people ne...

Re: Guru Rinpoche devotional practices

I mean it's clear that Enlightened Buddhist Teachers do it.. The Dalai Lama, etc. Your Guru, all respects to Him, is just bearing the Torch of Expedient Means to preserve that type of practice most importantly from what it seems. Nothing wrong with that. A live transmission over the web is one thin...

Re: Sikkim pilgrimage

Hi acne. Some years back( around 2008) I went with some friends from Bagdodra to Darjeeling and on to Gangtok. We briefly visited Rumtek but then had to take a helicopter back down to Bagdodra as one of the group fell very sick. So never got further than that. Would be great to spend a couple of wee...

Re: New Free Intro to Meditation Online Course (Mingyur Rinpoche/ Tergar)

The original course some years ago was excellent and I am sure that this update will be too.
Ming your Rinpoche’s style is very much influenced by his father so shamata becomes very special.

I have never heard of it being given online but these days anything is possible.
Keep an eye on all his sons ( and nephew). That's where it will come from.

Meditation is letting your mind to wander in any direction and being aware of it.
No, this is called “spacing out.”
Is not spacing out being unaware???

White Tara mantra

There seem to be two variations of White Tara mantra.
1.
Oṃ Tāre Tuttāre Ture Mama Ayuḥ Punya Jñānā Puśtiṃ Kuru Svāhā.
2.
Om Tare Tuttare Ture Mama Ayurjnana Punye Pushting Svaha.
Any idea why the difference? Do different lineages use one or other?

Re: Pausing sadhanas

This is very interesting. I have heard from one of my teachers that when practicing sadhana alone, YOU are the boss and yes you can pause and spend time on each section . When in a group obviously one goes along with the group pace. I think in this way one can really integrate the practice into one'...
