Re: Kyabje Jigten Sumgon's protection wheel

I know you're asking Cone, but I only asked if I could practice this by itself mainly because I don't practice five fold mahamudra. So probably if one is a Drikungpa it may not serve as a main practice cause there's complete practice cycles in that lineage. Umm, did you forget about Uṣṇīscakravarti...

Re: Kyabje Jigten Sumgon's protection wheel

That is really interesting, I did not know about it. Thanks for making this thread. I think it's connected to Cakrasamvara as presented by the Drikung Lineage. I don't know that it exists elsewhere. There are other Protection Wheel practices associated with various Cakrasamvara sadhanas,...

Re: Kyabje Jigten Sumgon's protection wheel

A Khenpo got back to me and explained it's connected to Chakrasamvara and said it can be practiced as a main practice as well. That is really interesting, I did not know about it. Re: Kyabje Jigten Sumgon's protection wheel

Hi, Is there a recorded webcast somewhere? In relation to the protection my quess is that now you have three layers of armour: compassion, stability and infinite energy. And in the same time you (your I :) ) are nowhere so you are protected from malignant influences. As for gTummo I have read about...

Kyabje Jigten Sumgon's protection wheel

Meditation on the Three-Layered Protection Wheel of Chandali by Jigten Sumgon This sadhana, composed by Jigten Sumgön (1143-1217), contains the practices of Avalokitesharva, the wrathful deity Achala, and Vajrayogini woven into one. It is designed to be practiced when doing the practices of chandal...

Yumkha

In 2018 via live webcast Kyabje Garchen Rinpoche gave wang and the lung of Yumkha Dechen Gyalmo mantra. The mantra has the Tara mantra 'inserted' into the main mantra, anyone know why that is?

Re: Subtle body in Dzogchen

How would it require Longsal transmission? Be good to get some clarification on this. This practice would require the transmission of the Longsal Saltong Lung, which is exactly what ChNN gave back in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2006 (also in closed webcast). Is it the same practice from the seventh...

Hevajra Root Tantra says:
  • Like the steady flow

    and the steady flicker
of the tip of a lamp flame.

There are some methods of Guru Yoga where one offers one's body to the Guru and retinue; similar in a way to Chöd rites.

Re: Troma nagmo and rainbow body

If I remember correctly it's the result of the yoga's of the 4th empowerment, which involves a continuation of the mudra practice's of the 3rd empowerment. Just wanted to revise my last statement, I remembered what I actually heard was rainbow body was possible because of the profound method of the...

Re: Troma nagmo and rainbow body

If they attained rainbow body they were practicing trekcho and/or thogal. Perhaps externally it looked as though they only offered mandala, but internally that was not the case if jalu was manifested. Any text to support this? Of course, texts mentioned that trekcho and thogal can results in rainbo...

Re: Mantra siddhi

Pretty much every single text will extol the magical power of the mantra or dharani it describes (the seeing/touching/copying ones are usually dharanis, not mantras) and how it is supreme over all other practices etc etc. That's what the texts say, so lamas repeat it when they give transmission, bu...

Re: Mantra siddhi

Many years ago I was present when someone suggested this to Thrangu Rinpoche and he answered; "without the visualisation there will be no siddhi". /magnus One just needs to recite Vajrayogini mantra to gain all siddhi, this is in the Chakrasamvara root tantra. Can you provide a quote rega...

Re: Mantra siddhi

It also says that such a statement is merely used to describe the greatness of the mantra and the text. This is sort of the crux of my question. Some statements glorify certain mantras to grant attainment by relying on the mantra. I am merely trying to discover which mantras are glorified in this w...

Re: Mantra siddhi

One just needs to recite Vajrayogini mantra to gain all siddhi, this is in the Chakrasamvara root tantra. This seems like a misrepresentation of Vajrayoginis mantra in relation to siddhis. See chapter 48 of the root tantra. To recite the mantra, you need empowerment (which can be a lot of detail, i...

Re: Mantra siddhi

What does "accomplishment even outside of sadhana" mean? I should have explained in more detail, but I meant just relying on the mantra without doing elaborate yogas of the two stages. Many years ago I was present when someone suggested this to Thrangu Rinpoche and he answered; "with...
