Re: sang purification cypress / juniper toxicity.

Hi, I've being trying to get more into details of different sang substances, particularly into the cypresses. i understood that the cypresses used are of the juniperus species really, Particularly the specie juniperus recurva is used as base substace -at least- in ChNN's drip sang powder, wich we c...

Just received another one clarifying that it seems to be up to those attending what they share and how. I have no idea what any of it is about or even that there was a meeting. lol :)

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

If that Guru is your Root Guru, then yes, His/Her teaching outweighs all others. This is universally so, but let's unpick it a little. Imagine that your Root Guru requires you to wear robes whenever you are attending teachings or empowerments, given by anyone. But you also have a Guru who specifies...

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

As if one Guru's view must outweigh all the other Gurus? I am sorry, but nowhere in the Vajrayana does it say that we should cherry-pick our gurus teaching to suit our personal preferences (ego). Like nowhere. You are just trolling now. Straw man hurled high into the air. Not interested in your cur...

your comments are like "I have no problems if anyone is wearing Dharma robes" and then "you are all just a pretenders". Im sorry but they are. btw, arent you dzogchen community person? just curious. :namaste: He has taken empowerments from LOTR too. Childish. As if one Guru's view must outwe...

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

This is called "arguing from the exception." But seriously: You still cannot judge the people that followed his lead, as you do not know their motivation. How many of the people here arguing against ngakpa garb (and there are some people here doing exactly that), are doing so based on ignorance and...

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

But I will allow myself a belly laugh when I see a certain band of westerners who also base their path on a recent British Ngakpa's dream and dress up like an explosion in a brocade factory. ;) This is called "arguing from the exception." But seriously: You still cannot judge the people that follow...

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

Nobody is pushing others to wear any religious robes, but please, dont look down and create wrong views of people wearing one, thats whole my point. Then we all agree. As far as I am aware in this thread (and expecting someone to pluck a comment out of context in response) nobody is creating wrong ...

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

You know, you could rejoice in the attainments of practitioners, instead of mocking them. That way you would share in their merit, instead of generating a mind full of jealousy. And you could do with acquiring a sense of proportion, not to mention a sense of humour, and look over the series of angr...

So it IS true then. Dressing up and impersonating a Ngakpa brings true siddhis! :rolling: You know, you could rejoice in the attainments of practitioners, instead of mocking them. Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

Tendzin Norbu eventually progressed through the second (dge tshul)and third (dge slong) ordinations and became a fully ordained bhikßu.In the autobiographer’s retrospective view, although he was steadfastlydetermined to uphold fastidiously the complete vows, he always wore themonastic robes with a ...

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

I have doubts that the modern world has any use of divination.......... You serious? It is a massive massive business, from 'super forecasters' in politics and economics to those addicted to daily horoscopes. The 'modern world' is global, obviously, and people in many cultures look to spiritual sou...

Re: Do you know who this deity is?

The internet allows this to happen easily with intangible phenomena. Just imagine with a physical object (with apologies to the OP) : 'I want the maintenance and repair manual for a Ford truck.' 'Do you have a Ford truck?' 'No.' 'Can you drive?' 'No.' 'Is anyone reliable teaching you truck repair or...

Re: Do you know who this deity is?

Hi, Can someone tell me the name of this deity? Is this deity Ekajati? I am not sure because Ekajati is normally blue color or red color. Is she an emanation of Vajrapani? Do you have the mantra of this deity? Thank you. Link removed. I removed this OP, because I couldn't delete the attachment. Sho...

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

I'm not even sure if the site owner is still around. He was at an Dudjom empowerment I attended a few years ago, but the site seems dead. The 14 Root Downfalls explanation on the site has been claimed by the Aro g'Ter leader as his work, but he is also a Dudjom Ngakpa as well as the Aro 'Rinpoche' ...

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

I think the Ngakpa robes have deep spiritual meaning beyond what many of us will ever know... I remembered this website that helps me as a reference for basic things about the ngakpas... this page speaks about robes: http://www.nyingma.com/artman/publish/ngakpa_intro.shtml I would take everything o...

Re: Off setting smoke pollution in the environment

Beautiful idea. I would definitely like to learn Riwo Sangcho, but there are few lamas around to teach this. However, I do know an anthropologist who has done all of her academic work on sang, so maybe she can point me in the right direction. The neighbour is a nice guy, but very secular, so I can'...

Re: Ngakpas everywhere!

So, in conclusion then: It varies. The ordination, the dress and even the very definition. A very strange thread where everyone has agreed that it is OK to be a sincere practitioner and keep samaya in whatever form is appropriate to each Lama's wishes, yet some have decided to be offended and scream...
