When you've done all you can but to no avail.

Lots of intelligent and wonderful people in this forum. I really appreciate learning from all of you. You truly help me in my own practice.

I wondered what my Buddhist friends here might say to that line of thinking.

I thought this would've been the appropriate area since I am a Nichiren Buddhist.

lol I haven't personally studied Sutras. In fact, I really only have a surface to mid-level understanding of Nichiren Buddhsim's teachings from a summarized sort of viewpoint. Why did this happen? I don't want to get into details but basically my friend wound up saying something that really didn't set right w me. I handled it well, but still. Why didn't my daimoku seem to pay off?
