Re: enlightment in one life

The task of paramount importance is not to fall into apaya bhumi\ lower realms and not to lose touch with Buddhavacana.

Re: Buddhahood in This Life Transmission Webcast: 09/15/17

Thank you, Malcolm and everyone. This required some stamina due to the time zone, however I'm happy now. Definitely need a coffee now to wake up again. It finished at 5am Saturday morning here in Greece. Oh, the same thing ))) five hours on 1 mbit downlink with "aik-ka" every 15 seconds when video ...

Re: Showing your real picture

Tolya, you are looking very good, Oh thanks ) But you don't have to go anywhere to practice Dharma -- the whole world is right where you are. Yes and no. I'm thinking about moving closer to where the Buddhists are. Pilgrimage is in itself an act of practice. Maybe it is but no one will beli...

Re: Thodgal

I'm not interested in the technical details of the togal at all. I guess there is nothing special judging by what Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche wrote about his visions. Visions, phosphen, etc., is more about cittaja-rupa in Abhidhamma or some kind of abhyavakasika\parikalpita\vaibhutrika rupa for me. This...

I think "Thodgal For Dummies" is due out in 2018. Prisoner's cinema Phosphene Closed-eye hallucination Some part related to visions is known throughout all samsara. Without being in dharmakaya \ trekcho, this is useless in the best case. PS Thodgal For Dummies -...aaaaaa good joke

Some here : "out of buddhism, no way to be saved"
But the church does not have a pramanavada where its positions are proved by logic. There is such a set of axioms that you can not really go anywhere if you are honest with yourself.

Re: ChNN on Jesus?

There is no evidence of Buddhadharma in Christianity. This could be debated as there are a variety of religions that include some Buddhadharma, such as right speech, right action , etc, but this is not the proper place. The mundane Eightfold Path and the mundane right view can coincide. It is ok.

Re: ChNN on Jesus?

I don't understand what this part of your sentence means. I have not read anything above the basic level it means that I do not have extensive knowledge of vajrayana canon. But there is no place for any worldly religion as the Garland of views by Padmasambhava is accepted by all Dzogchen\Nyingma te...

Re: ChNN on Jesus?

ChNN is not Buddhist canon. But he is the root guru of many here and is the reincarnation of Adzom Drukpa. Many consider him to be enlightened. For others, he is just another lama. I did not say anything bad about him. He himself teaches according to the canon and adds his terma to it. I have not r...

Re: ChNN on Jesus?

ChNN is not Buddhist canon. No Buddha is. You can entirely disregard what Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche says if he is not your teacher -- and even if he is, you obviously can disagree with him. PS In general it is doubtful that NNR said that. It is not. He has made such statements more than once (...

Re: ChNN on Jesus?

Even if ChNN says Christ was enlightened, it's up to yourself to make up your mind. It's like scrutinising your own teacher, even ChNN himself. ChNN is not Buddhist canon. If Christ was enlightened in the buddhist sense then there must be very pure\parisuddha qualities\guna which are associated\sam...

Re: ChNN on Jesus?

I also remember him saying something to the effect that Dzogchen is not necessarily Buddhist as it is beyond concepts and limitations, and was taught in other worlds, but in our world it has been taught in connection with Buddhism. He meant something simple like the fact that Dzogchen is Dharma, an...
