Re: How to spread blessings of mantra chanting while walking on the streets
Prob best to accumulate a vast number like 10 million, with deep devotion and then you’ll know you’ve likely developed some actual mantra power. Also, read this book, it is about using the Mani mantra as the basis of a full path, it should help: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0097D7E78/ref=dp-kindle-red...

Re: Chod Damaru vs standard Damaru
I'm so horrible with the bell and damaru  Separately I can keep a ok rhythm but soon as I try both... That’s totally normal for a beginner. If you just practice, practice, and practice some more.. then you’ll get the hang of it. Then it will eventually become totally effortless. Once that happ...

Generally Sang is a morning practice, before noon. Sur is an afternoon and evening practice... there’s many kinds of sang practices and many kinds of sur too. Re: Riwo sang Chö, I’ve only witnessed one of my Lamas doing it in the evening, and I didn’t get a chance to ask them about it.

Re: Troma nagmo and rainbow body
Even the Sakya Khon tradition of Phurbha have such instructions. /magnus To be fair, you make it sound Sakya however it’s a Nyingma Kama Vajrakilaya practice that the Khon family kept preserved, not a Sarma practice.. so it makes sense that it’d follow the same trends as other Nyingma Mahayoga sadh...

Re: Troma nagmo and rainbow body
In the Nyingma there are a number of terma practice cycles which combine Maha Anu and Ati yogas, which both build from the realization or adepthood of Mahayoga to higher capacity for accomplishment in Anuyoga, and so forth with Anu to Ati. At the same time, the Ati yoga view generally informs Mahayo...

Where can you obtain a English copy? I have been helping one of my Lama to translate some dudjom text from english to Chinese. I am also currently looking for a english copy of Namchak Puri. Thank you The gun khyer? http://vimalatreasures.org/Downloads/Kilaya_Daily_Practice.pdf Thanks. This one I a...

Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro
I seem to recall Sangye Khandro saying that Ngakpa Yeshe Dorje said this is ok. Well it certainly wasn’t considered OK by Dungse Shenphen Dawa Rinpoche who was enthroned as head of the Tersar by his father Dudjom Rinpoche himself. So I’m not sure how Ngakpa Yeshe Dorje would have the authority to c...

Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro
Really the Four Feasts are secret and intended for serious yogis who really do them according to the proper times of day, in retreat. I’m not sure why they have started being used in public group contexts by some these days, however this is unusual and not how the tertons intended it. I seem to rec...

Re: Empowerment needed for tummo?
I have a question. I am contemplating attending one of Tulku Lobsang s tummo retreats which are offered publicly. Another option is the retreat this year with Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. I emailed the secretary of an upcoming Tulku Lobsang tummo retreat and was told no empowerment will be given for tu...

Actually I'm referring to this text https://www.tbrc.org/#library_work_ViewByOutline-O1PD96438C2O0162%7CW1PD96438. Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro
I think a little more clarification is needed here. Sorry if I repeat some of what Adamantine said. What lingugpa is referring to as the "Short Throma ngondro" and Adam is referring to as "lujin ngondro", is really just the opening and closing verses used in the four feasts. However, the opening ve...

Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro
Ok.. the widely known concise Dudjom tersar ngondro does come from the Troma cycle of Dudjom Lingpa, however it is usually a very initial ngondro in the Tersar before one does their Three Roots retreats. Three Roots are generally coming from Dudjom Rinpoche’s cycles of Dakini (Yeshe Tsogyal), Guru a...

Re: Cost of retreats USA vs. EUR
Expecting America to be sane was a rookie mistake. I doesn't cost anything to do a million Guru Rinpoche mantras at home. 10,000$ for a single initiation is still a robbery for the reciever. But let's be honest in most of the world being a wandering mendicant who can pay by practicing is a crime. D...
